Where to Begin Your Saving.

Ok, so you are really wanting to take the trip, and you are not sure how to come up with the money. Where do you begin? Well, I have taken all of my favorite tips and combined them here for you.

Decide How Much to Save.

This is always the first and most crucial step. This can be broken down into several small steps, so that you do not feel overwhelmed or concerned that you have an inaccurate goal. Always do this on the highest end. If you have extra money in the savings that only gives you more to spend.

  • Plan your party size. If you want to take 4 and are not sure that the 4th can go, plan it for 4 anyway.
  • Decide which resort you want to visit. Because there is a price difference and overall difference in each, explore them both online.
  • Decide when your top three goal dates are. Always plan out three, in the event it takes longer to save than you realize. You will also save decently if you go during off peak times. The park hours may be shorter, but your feet will thank you.
  • Decide how long you want to visit the resorts.
Once you have completed these steps you are ready to start pulling prices. You save money by doing it online through Disney Travel versus paying an agent. Find the prices for all three dates and mark the highest plus spending money as your goal amount. Don't forget your meal plan.

Create A Hands Free Savings Account.

Most of the time this can be done with your existing bank. However if that would be an easy access account, consider a different bank to use. Look for one that pays interest as well. This account needs to be hands free so that you do not run over your attempt by dipping in to it. If you know you have to wait 5-7 days to get money out you will be less likely to play with it.

Check Your Mail.

We all get the spam mail days where we get piles of advertisements. Look through them and use the coupons that are for the things you normally buy. Keep your normal budget planned, but use the coupons, and look for sales in the store. Change to off name brands. This may only save pennies at a time, however those pennies add up. Put every penny that you did not spend in to your savings account. Forget it is there.

Turn Off Lights and Walk More.

Do nearly the same thing here that you do for the foods. Keep your normal amount in the budget and put every penny you saved on gas, power and heat into the savings account and forget it is there.

Get the Travelers to Help.

Tell everyone you are taking that you are looking at going, however in order to go you need them to help. They can help save money with you by turning off lights, getting cheap things at the store and putting aside frivolous charges.

Now that you have the basics, start saving!!
